GZIST’s Application for Four Research Capability Upgrade Projects Approved

Guangdong Province Department of Education issued the Notice on the Approved List of 2021 Guangdong Province Research Capability Upgrade Projects for Key Disciplines. All the four projects applied by GZIST had been approved. The university will coordinate use of the project funds according to the requirements of pertinent documents, and urge all the project leaders to carry our work according to the project applications, so as to ensure smooth implementation and success of the projects.

With the aim of upgrading academic research and technological innovation, GZIST has always attached great importance to the application of high-level research projects at the provincial level and above.

First, more efforts are made to prepare for applications and encourage more applications. The University takes the application of high-level scientific research projects as an important starting point to simulate our scientific research and innovation work. With close attention, delicate preparation and strengthened services, the total number of applications has been on the increase year by year.

Second, the quality applications are improved by relying on key platforms. With the strong support from the Province and the Municipality, the university continues to increase investment in scientific research platforms and teams. Project researchers’ capabilities have been raised and the quality constantly improved.

Third, the university seeks to contribute to the development of the Greater Bay Area by catering to local demands. Centering around Guangdong Province “Thrush, Offset, Strengthen”  Plan (to speed up building first-class universities, make up for weak areas and strengthen distinctiveness”, the university strengthens the disciplines, identifying electronic information, civil engineering and water resources and business administration as key disciplines for the Upgrade Plan.. Each discipline continues to give full play to its advantageousness, distinctiveness and orientation, with engineering as backbone for multi-discipline coordinated development of engineering, management, economics, literature and art.
