GZIST Won Excellent Results in the Guangdong Province Division of the 8th China International “Internet +” College Student Innovation And Entrepreneurship Competition

The project “Guangzhou Doraimi Creative Culture Communication Co., Ltd.” submitted by Sun Dijie and another 5 students from the School of Music and Dance, instructed by teachers Quan Yan, Luo Shengyan and Wei Dongting, was granted bronze award of the Higher Education Group in Guangdong Province Division of the 8th China International “Internet+” College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. The project “Sewage Network Inspection” submitted by the student team of Huang Yuehui and the other 12 students, jointly instructed by the teachers Tang Luxin, Liang Jinru, Yu Yonglong and Gong Yisha from the School of Business Administration and the Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center respectively, was granted the bronze award of the Industrial Group.

 In recent years, Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology has implemented the innovation-driven development strategy, deepened the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education. The university has built six platforms for curriculum teaching, academic competition, innovation and entrepreneurship training, society activities, social practices, and business incubation by implementing six guarantees of system, organization, incentives, teachers, venues and funds, and establishing an academic competition pattern of “subject + core + interest”, which has enabled students to preoccupy themselves with study and practice, and to foster strict talent training and better study atmosphere for better results. Thus breakthroughs have been made in key competitions, innovation and entrepreneurship education has shown a good development trend and presented characteristics of “learning in the classroom, experiencing in activities, growing in projects, and improving in competitions”.

 The Guangdong Provincial Final of the 8th China International “Internet +” College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was launched in April this year, which has been highly valued by universities and colleges, with about 375,000 projects involving 1.558 million students. The number of projects and participants and the intensity of competition hit a record high, covering all regions, schools and students, and achieving mutual promotion of teaching, learning and competition.
