(XU Ruiqi) On June 15, Deputy Managing Directors Ouyang Qianwen and Lin Chuan from Guangzhou Airport Talent Service Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Guangzhou Airport Industry Investment Group came to visit the University for partnership together with President Ma Haiyun, Vice Presidenbt Chen Guoxing and Deputy Director Zhao Xiaoqian from Beijing General Aviation Group. GZIST President Hu Shejun met with the delegation, accompanied by Vice President Zhang Rixin, Assistant to President Tang Chenglong, Faculty Affairs Division Director Bao Hong, Technology Transfer Director Li Long, Research Deputy Director Zhan Xiaran, Labs Management Deputy Director Gao Wencai and the School of Business Administration CPC General Branch Secretary Yang Hui.

President Hu Shejin warmly welcomed the visitors. Vice President Zhang Rixin briefed the guests on the overview of the University, mode of education, facilities, curriculum, and talent development. He expressed strong emphasis upon university-enterprise partnership,  industry-academics-research integration and technology transfer. President Ma Haiyun introduced the structure and operations of Beijing General Aviation Group, especially in aviation education with rich experience in partnering with universities and colleges and offering aviation-related joint running and vocational training. Deputy Managing Director Ouyang Qianwen talked about the working of Guangzhou Airport Industry Investment Group and specific operations of Guangzhou Airport Talent Service Co., Ltd., indicating their strong interest in working with the University on the vocational certification training.

Heated discussions followed regarding the pattern, mission, mode and content of the partnership. The visiting delegation proposed that an aviation industry school be set up based on the University current resources and that a science and technology R&D center and an exposition hall be established, much to the consent of the University. A framework agreement is to be drafted for the partnership, innovation and talent development for the aviation industry.
