On the afternoon of April 18, Vice President Hong Minxin of PCI Technology Group led a delegation to GZIST for a University-Enterprise Partnership. GZIST Chairman Huang Jiazhou, Executive Vice President Fu Huanchang, leaders from the University Capital Construction Division and School of Computer Science and Engineering met with the delegation.
GZIST Executive Vice President Fu Huanchang delivered a welcome message, emphasizing that people development has been always placed at the core of our work, as well as university-enterprise partnerships for upgrading of our faculty’s expertise and our students’ employability. He looked forward to working with PCI Technology Group, a leader in the sector for developing high-caliber talents.
Vice President Hong Minxin briefed on the business operations of PCI Technology Group, an AI and technology services provider. The Group runs PCI Central Research Institute and Transport Brain Research Institute, three State-Level Joint Labs, one National Enterprise Technology Center, and undertakes dozens of State, Province or Ministry major technology projects. The Group was designated as the first cohort of Guangzhou Academicians’ and Experts’ Workstation. It is expected that both PCI and GZIST will be able to work out a new model for Industry-Academics-Research Synergy in scientific research, people development for sharing and complementarity of resources and technological breakthroughs.
Discussions were followed between both sides. He Minwei, GZIST’s Dean of School of Computer Science and Engineering suggested that we could start with our teaching studios both on- and off-campus for future collaborative projects. PCI representatives introduced their on-going projects and practices of lab construction.
GZIST Chairman Huang Jiazhou made final remarks by praising highly the achievements of PCI Technology Group in technological innovation and social services. He hoped that both sides will be able to capitalize on our own resources for a maximal design and put in sufficient human and financial resources. The path to innovation is unavoidably laden with problems of all kinds, said Chairman Huang. It is his aspiration that we go all out with the times to satisfy the needs of education, industry and the University by blazing a new model and route, turning out a large of number of talents and specialists for our society.
