The 2022 Annual Academic Conference of Guangdong Systems Engineering Society was held in Guangzhou Tongyu International Hotel on September 24, under the theme “Systems Engineering Theory and Practice for the National Unified Major Market”. Sponsored by Guangdong Systems Engineering Society, it was co-hosted by School of Management, Guangdong University of Technology, and School of Business Administration, Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology. Some 200 people from 36 universities, enterprises and institutions in Guangdong Province attended the conference on site and online, and they shared thoughts on the most advanced theory and practice of systems engineering.
Professor Li Peixiang, Vice Chairman of Guangdong Systems Engineering Society, presided over the conference. Vice President Zhang Shimei, , Professor Yang Xiaoguang, Chairman of Systems Engineering Society of China, and Professor Zhang Depeng, Chairman of Guangdong Systems Engineering Society, delivered speeches successively.
This conference focused on such topics as building a national unified major market, building a new pattern of dual-cycle development, and promoting coordinated development of “One Nucleus, One Belt and One Region”. Four academic reports were offered for all attendees, and 12 reports were given in separate sessions, and a forum among experts in theory and practice of systems engineering was also arranged. The reports covered a wide range of fields, including scientific and technological innovation, rural revitalization, medical and health care, carbon peak and carbon neutrality in the context of a unified big market and so on. Such experts and scholars as Yang Xiaoguang, Zhang Guangyu, Li Congdong, Zhou Wenhui, Wang Yu, Fu Qiufang, Pan Yanchun, Du Jun, Zhou Qingming, Guo Yuqiang, Wu Ji, and Zhou Junjie brought wonderful reports to delegates online and offline.
Professor Li Congdong from Jinan University, who is also Vice President of the Society, presided over the morning keynote report. Professor Yang Xiaoguang, Chairman of the Systems Engineering Society of China, gave a report on “Chinese Systems Engineering: An Overview”. Professor Zhang Guangyu, Honorary Chairman of the Systems Engineering Society of China, gave a report on “The Historical Process and Driving Strategy of Guangdong Innovation Development”. In the reports, the two scholars combined innovation of institutions with innovation of science and technology as well as high-quality development with systems engineering, to promote the development of high-quality systems engineering in China. Chaired by Professor Jin Linlin, Vice Chairman of the Guangdong Systems Engineering Society, a report on “Research on Regional Medical Resource Investment under the Background of the National Unified Medical Services" was delivered by Zhou Wenhui, Professor of the School of Business Administration of South China University of Technology. Wu Ji, Associate Professor of the School of Management of Sun Yat-sen University, made a report on “The Impact of Channel Integration on the Equity and Quality of Patient Medical Services”.
Professor Li Congdong, Vice President of the Society, presided over the keynote report in the morning. Professor Yang Xiaoguang, a researcher at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, gave a talk entitled "Systems Engineering in China: an Overview". Professor Zhang Guangyu, former Vice President of Guangdong University of Technology, reported on "The Historical Process and Driving Strategy of Innovation Development in Guangdong". The two scholars closely combine institutional innovation-driven scientific and technological innovation, high-quality development and systems engineering to promote high-quality systems engineering in China. Chaired by Professor Jin Linlin, Vice chairman of the Association, and Professor Zhou Wenhui from the School of Business Administration of South China University of Technology makes a report entitled "Research on Regional Medical Resource Investment under the Background of National Unified Medical Service Market". Wu Ji, associate professor of the School of Management, Sun Yat-sen University, makes a report entitled "The impact of Channel integration on the equity and quality of patient medical services". In the afternoon, the academic seminar centered on the following two topics: “Forum on Theory and Practice” and “Special Report and Presentation of Excellent Papers”. Professor Wang Peng, Vice Chairman of the Society, Professor Du Jun, Executive Director of the Society, and Professor He Liu, School of Economics and Management of Wuyi University, co-hosted the "Forum on Theory and Practice". Many scholars made reports on the forum, including Professor Li Congdong, Vice Chairman of the Society, Professor Wang Yu, Vice Dean of International Business School of Jinan University, Professor Fu Qiufang from Business School of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Distinguished Professor Zhou Qingmin from Drucker Academy, and Guo Yuqiang, Chairman of Guangzhou Panyu Cable Digital TV Network Co., LTD.
The annual conference promoted the sharing and communication of academic achievements, exerting positive influence on the development of academia. A total of 20 excellent papers were awarded, including four first prizes, six second prizes and ten third prizes.The papers of Yu Hengbing, Yu Baoqi and Xu Yiwu, Wang Yulin and Chen Yun from our university School of Business Administration won the third prize respectively.
Xiong Jun, Deputy Editor of the magazine Science and Technology Management Research, presided over the session “Special Report and Presentation of Excellent Papers”. Professor Pan Yanchun, Vice Chairman of the Society, Professor Du Jun, Executive Director of the Society, Assistant Professor Ye Bin, Doctoral Supervisor of the School of Environment of Southern University of Science and Technology, and Associate Professor Zhou Junjie from Business School of Shantou University, made reports and shared their academic papers. These reports and papers not only made breakthrough achievements in theoretical innovation, but also put forward countermeasures and suggestions to solve problems in economic and social practices.
At the closing ceremony, Professor Luo Feng, Vice Chairman of the Society, made a concluding speech and thanked the delegates for sharing their academic insights.
The 2023 Annual Conference will be organized by the School of Economics and Management of Zhaoqing University.
