May 1-5, 2024, over two hundred forty-six thousand overseas traders from 215 countries and regions attended Phase Three of the 135th China Import & Export Commodities Fair (Canton Fair) at Guangzhou Pazhou International Convention and Exhibition Center. Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology (GZIST) showcased the latest research output in conjunction with Yuanda Intelligence. GZISTs School of Economics and Management and School of Business Administration sent their faculty and students to the Fair for teaching practicum and market survey in the Guangdong-Hongkong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA).

Yuanda Inlligence and its subsidiary Guangli Electronics showcased over thirty products in intelligent manufacturing and health, including 10L Oxygen-Maker, Massage Shawl, Waist Massage Chair, Fascial Gun, which have offered traders and consumers brand new experience.

Students from the schools participated in the preparation, venue arrangement, reception and business negotiations, with 58 follow-up potential clients, 25 deals concluded and 56 product samples sold on site. What is worth noting is that the Oxygen-Maker by GZIST Intelligent Manufacturing Studio attracted the attention of potential clients from the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.

As a University-Industry Cooperative Unit, Yuanda Intelligence has provided our students with all the resources available and training, from preparation, business reception and negotiations to follow-up of potential clients, thus developing our students innovative and hands-on capabilities, competitiveness and future career orientation.

The Market Survey Team distributed Chinese and English questionnaires and got back 37 on the dame day, covering such sectors as foods, garments, household, medical services. The faculty and students communicated with the clients on market trends, product advantages and client needs. The data they had collected will be very useful for their future research projects.

This Canton Fair practicum has demonstrated the necessity of Industry-University-Research integration which the University always attaches great importance to, for developing our students global vision, innovation and entrepreneurship and practical capabilities.
