In order to have an in-depth understanding of the local development and local custom of Lanbiao Village, to inspire and lead our youth to devote themselves to the great new journey of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, and to promote rural revitalization through Featured Towns, our university “San Xiaxiang” (college students’ social practices of promoting culture, technology and healthcare in less developed rural areas) Team conducted a study tour to Lanbiao Village, Qishi Town, Huilai County, Jieyang City, Guangdong Province.
Led by Wu Mujin, Organization Member of the CPC Branch of Lanbiao School, our team and Lanbiao School students visited the historic sites of the village. Along the way, teacher Wu told us the history and tradition of the village. Under the rural revitalization strategy, Lanbiao Village has been changing and developing continuously in recent years, but the culture passed down from generation to generation has not been abandoned. The erosion of the years did not change the original appearance of the ancient buildings standing on this piece of land, which still shows the prosperity of the past. A sense of history left us strong visual shocks, impacting our hearts.
Through the visit to the ancient buildings of Lanbiao Village, we understood better the significance of preserving rural cultural villages and deeply appreciated that cultural heritage carries the cultural genes and reflects the spiritual qualities of a nation. In this way, we young students are guided to further establish cultural self-confidence and to record the history, culture and spirit of rural areas in various forms to attract more people to pay attention to rural development and join in rural construction.
